Fit for a King
King of NASCAR that is… Mr. Richard Petty. What a project!
Edmund Davidson created this modified version of a Bob Loveless
Big Bear integral style knife; 17 ½”overall length,
Peters Heat Treating; Jerry Davidson engraver. I did the scrim
and we all presented the knife in person at the Richard Petty
Museum in Randleman, North Carolina. Steve Shackleford wrote
an article about the project and the presentation for Blade magazine’s
May 2010 issue. Richard Petty is a wonderful person and
has a delightful family. It was such a pleasure to be part of
collaboration like this. The subject matter was chosen by Mr.
Petty, his daughter Lisa, and her Husband Charlie Luck. It represents
his home in Randleman where he and his wife, Linda, grew up and
his ‘Winner’s Retreat” near Jackson Hole, Wyoming.
My thanks go out to Edmund and, Charlie and Lisa Luck for making
this project possible. |
